ITspace, a technology portal launched in 1998 was a leader in the portal space in India, bagging many
awards in it's first year.
ITspace.com was india’s first and largest technology portal.
It was launched by the Microland Group in 2000 and won 5
awards in it's first year of operations. It was a site that
was largely driven by it's community of users who included
programmers, technologists and senior management in
technology companies. Focus groups were conducted for
each type of user to understand and cater to their
individual needs.
This portal had a huge content management section that
was constantly fed by a team of 35 editorial staff as well
as news feeds from various publications. Articles needed
to be refreshed constantly and archival needed to be
efficient and speedy. Because of the speed at which content
was growing on this site on a daily basis, the architecture
of the site was of critical importance.
ITspace included a strong job search section that had
a database of thousands of job seekers and companies.
It also had chat and discussion areas where live celebrity
chats were hosted several times a week. To complement
the online offering we also hosted off-line events with the
target audience like industry forums and participated in
trade shows.
